One fact is this Science and Media has expanded our knowledge immensely Faith, Belief, Religion have changed little in centuries. Excuse me but you're the one calling people here 'idiots'. Please be specific so that I can point out exactly where you're wrong. the bible was the book of LAW for a thousand years in this country. for the past 80years the fake bullshit parla-ment(whitch means talk lies in latin! I sense you're having trouble articulating whatever your point is here (no worries - I'm pretty mashed too) but, if I understand you correctly, you're suggestng that since 1930, parliament has been destroying biblical law and this is having a detrimental effect on society.the bible says every man is free and to own a man is a sin? Here are a few verses you might want to look at: Leviticus -46 (says you can purchase male and female slaves from amongst foreigners, you can also purchase the children of foreigners and treat them as your property) Exodus 21:2-6 (says you can only keep a Hebrew slave for six years but you can get a male Hebrew slave to become a permanent slave by keeping his wife and children hostage until he says he wants to become a permanent slave.) Exodus -21 ("When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property.") There are many more like that and, as far as the New Testament, is concerned, neither Jesus nor St Paul nor anyone else is recorded as having said anything to oppose the institution of slavery, which was very much a part of life in Judea, Galilee, and in the rest of the Roman Empire during New Testament times and there would have been ample opportunity to take a stand against it, as any right-thinking person would surely do.
Religion has never deterred people from violence and plunder and has in fact been the excuse for much of it throughout history. I had noticed Hyperlites post was at 6.30 am Ariadne must get the award for the most articulate reply ive ever read. Please be specific so that I can point out exactly where you're wrong." im from the united kingdom as stated in the post? "I sense you're having trouble articulating whatever your point is here (no worries - I'm pretty mashed too) but, if I understand you correctly, you're suggestng that since 1930, parliament has been destroying biblical law and this is having a detrimental effect on society. That's just one example, I can give you a zillion more if you like. Now you give me examples of any good that religion does that wouldn't or couldn't be done without it. attachment_id=19628) will strike you down for this blasphemy, if I notice you online in the next few days it will confirm my atheism. Don't take my ownership of a bible to mean I'm any less of an atheist... Think of all the fucking sacrifices people have made to God in all his various guises. Nasty swaying to the thee temple ov psychic youth or the universe People,,,,,im not going for the Prince Philip Movement lol I wouldn't touch any of them with my light sabre, lol. the bible was the book of LAW for a thousand years in this country. my bible sits on the same bookshelf as my books about ghosts and other paranormal bullshit. whats absurd about that, it's the corner stone of modern christianity ! Isn't the full story that this merciful creator God condemned his only begotten son (who was really himself, of course) to a slow and agonising death on the cross because we turned out to be no better than he made us? If they buy me a drink I'll let bygones be bygones. I believe that Life is actually abundant in the universe. But I doubt itok i thought id post something i beleave in and hope i dont get any abuse from the aithiests.
